ESC Club Soccer Frequently Asked Questions

Is Club soccer the same as Classic/Select Soccer?

No, the U13/U14/15 Club program is specifically designed for players make a gradual transition from recreational soccer to Classic/Select soccer or prepare for JV soccer. The competition level is not as high in the club soccer program as it would be for Classic or Select soccer.  However, like the Classic/Select program, the club program does offer and provide professional coaching and a competitive training environment.

The U18 Club is an unique program that is specifically designed to offer high school age soccer players at the Varsity and level the opportunity to develop and improve their skills during the fall months by training and competing on a weekly basis in a challenging and enjoyable environment.  Like the Classic/Select program, the U18 club program does offer and provide professional coaching and a competitive training environment.

Can a player join the Club program if he or she has never been a part of any ESC Program?

Yes, players can be evaluated for a team in their respective age groups during Select soccer tryouts in May or at any time during the year. Prior participation with ESC is not required.

Where do the ESC Club Teams train?

Club teams train at the JB "Red" Owen soccer or nearby ESC fields.

How many times a week do Club teams train?

Club teams train twice a week for an hour and a half.

Where do the Club teams play games?

Club teams play on Saturdays in the CESA league in Greenville.  The Club teams may have the opportunity to travel to one tournament per season.  This tournament would be in the area.  

Are Summer camps mandatory?

ESC encourages all players to participate in the Summer camps. The camps provide players with an opportunity to prepare for the upcoming season and for players to get to know new players on their team and their coaches.

What are the fees for the Club team?

The club team fees are higher than recreational soccer.  These fees include the coach's pay, higher league fees and higher per player insurance fees.  The fee does not include the uniform cost.  The fee schedule is HERE
